Types of farm insurance offered
Federal Crop Insurance: Multi-Peril Crop Insurance (MPCI) is a government-subsidized risk management tool available for agricultural producers, farmers, ranchers, and others to protect against:
- The loss of their crop yields due to natural disasters, such as hail, drought or excess moisture
- The loss of revenue due to price declines for agricultural commodities.
Crop Hail Insurance: Crop Hail Insurance is available to agricultural producers, farmers, ranchers and others from private insurers because hail is a narrow peril that occurs in limited places.
Crop Hail Insurance protects against:
- Hail
- Transit
- Fire
Livestock Insurance: Livestock Gross Margin (LGM) and Livestock Risk Protection (LRP) are available to protect against the loss of gross margin or loss of revenues from a price decline over a certain amount of time. These policies do not protect against mortality, disease, or any other cause of loss. Livestock Mortality insurance coverage is also available as a separate product.
Umbrella Insurance Policies: Agri-businesses are vulnerable to unexpected events like natural disasters or lawsuits that often result in losses that exceed the limits of liability coverage. Umbrella insurance policies provide additional liability insurance to "cover the gap," potentially saving your farm in the event of a catastrophic event.
Employee Benefits and Group Insurance: Whether your farm is a small family operation or large commercial enterprise, a benefits program protects those who help with the daily operations. Cover your family and employees with major medical insurance, vision and dental insurance, disability insurance and workers’ compensation.
