Dan Downs promoted to Chief Lending Officer at Lincoln Savings Bank

Dan Downs has been promoted to Head of Lending at Lincoln Savings Bank (LSB). Downs attended Faith Baptist Bible College where he received an undergrad degree, then transferred to Drake University where he achieved a Master’s in Financial Management.

While most of his experience has been in Lending, Downs held his first banking position as a teller while in college. As one thing led to another, he made the decision to continue exploring the financial industry with no specific path in mind. As the Head of Lending, he will oversee the lending sales function of all LSB banks within the Des Moines, Cedar Valley, and Rural markets. “The people are what drew me to LSB.  From there, the position I fill is only a matter of where I can be plugged into to help the most,” said Downs.

To Downs, community banking means being invested in your community, both financially and emotionally, and working together to overcome the challenges presented by the local economy.  “The LSB saga sums it up, we love our employees and the customers we serve,” said Downs. He is an active participant in LSB sponsored community events, volunteers his time at church activities, and has provided foster care for the past 4 years.

Downs, who grew up outside of Philly and the Twin Cities, now resides in State Center with his wife, Amber, and two boys, JD and Aiden. Most of his personal time is spent cheering on his kids at their athletic events and, when time allows, weightlifting and hiking the trails with his dog, Raleigh.
